Miami has no shortage of places to go.

CHR Radar is more interested in where the culture is moving.

Each week, Crown Heights Radio looks for the DJs, selectors, record rooms, dance floors and creative spaces that fit somewhere inside the CHR ecosphere: house music, vinyl culture, global sounds, underground nightlife, design, style and community.

This weekend, the strongest picks connect Chicago, Brooklyn, Brazil and Miami in ways that feel especially close to home.

01. Derrick Carter at ZeyZey

Saturday, August 15 | ZeyZey, Little Haiti

This is the purest house-music pick of the weekend.

Chicago house pioneer Derrick Carter brings decades of underground dance-floor history to ZeyZey, one of Miami’s more interesting open-air music spaces.

Carter comes from the generation of DJs who built their identity through records, clubs and selection long before the word “curation” became marketing language.

That matters to CHR.

House music is not simply a genre on a menu. It is a lineage that runs through Chicago, New York, Detroit, London, Miami and countless rooms in between.

Saturday gives Miami a chance to hear one of that lineage’s enduring selectors in a setting that feels far removed from the bottle-service version of nightlife.

02. Brazil Session 50 at Dante’s HiFi

This one might be the most complete Crown Heights Radio ecosystem match of the weekend.

Brazil Session celebrates its 50th edition with Brooklyn crate-diggers Greg Caz and Sean Marquand spinning samba, bossa, baile funk, Brazilian boogie and house on vinyl.

Brooklyn.

Miami.

Vinyl.

Brazil.

House.

Selectors.

That is a fairly convincing CHR bingo card.

Dante’s HiFi is built around listening culture rather than spectacle. The room centers analog sound, vinyl and the simple idea that the person choosing the records should matter.

For CHR, that makes Dante’s more than another Wynwood nightlife stop.

Dante’s HiFi isn’t new territory for Crown Heights Radio. CHR has been behind the decks there before.

This weekend, Brazil Session 50 gives us another reason to tune back in.

It feels like a place the brand should know.

The Brooklyn connection makes this particular session even stronger. Greg Caz and Sean Marquand bring crate-digging sensibility south while using Brazilian music as the bridge between cities and scenes.

That is exactly the kind of cultural exchange Crown Heights Radio should be documenting.

03. Sasha at Jolene

Friday also gives Miami another side of house culture.

Sasha lands at Jolene with the kind of progressive and deep-house approach that rewards patience.

This is less about instant gratification and more about the architecture of a DJ set.

A great long-form selector can make a room feel different twenty minutes later without the crowd quite realizing how it happened.

That kind of programming matters to Crown Heights Radio.

The brand may draw heavily from classic New York and Chicago house, but it should also pay attention to how those ideas continue evolving through progressive, deep and contemporary club music.

Jolene provides the right environment for that conversation: smaller, darker and more dance-floor focused than Miami’s giant-room nightlife.

A few other events deserve honorable mentions.

Save Our Souls: Voigtmann at Floyd brings hypnotic, stripped-back house into one of Miami’s more intimate rooms.

Sam Binga at ZeyZey pushes toward jungle, UK garage, bass and soundsystem culture, a strong reminder that CHR’s musical universe should remain wider than house alone.

Magda at Jolene gives Saturday another underground option for techno and deeper club music.

And PALACIO at Domicile represents the harder edge of Miami’s underground electronic scene.

All worth watching.

But this weekend’s podium belongs to Carter, BrazilSession and Sasha.
