CultureCon NYC 2026

This is probably the week's highest-value networking and culture-intelligence stop. CultureCon expects a large creative audience and includes a Creative Business Stage, Career Lounge, networking, brand activations and a Small Business Market of Black-owned brands.
Brooklyn Museum Fall Fête
Thu. Oct. 1, 8–11 PM
New exhibitions, DJ music, live performances and activations, with cosplay encouraged around Art of Manga and access to Iris van Herpen: Sculpting the Senses. Clothing here becomes art-object, costume, identity and engineering all at once.
First Thursday + DUMBO Projection Walk
Thu. Oct. 1, evening
Gallery openings, open studios and a projection route through the waterfront/cobblestone environment create one of this week's strongest visual-content hunts. Art in DUMBO lists multiple openings from 6–8 PM, while the Projection Walk runs through the district that evening.
RAW CUTS × House of Yes: DJ Minx
Sat. Oct. 3, doors 10 PM
Detroit house from DJ Minx with Bridge, JMT and additional room programming. The dance floor is explicitly no phones/no photos, which makes this better for field observation than content capture: watch what people wear when they are dressing to participate rather than perform for Instagram.
NYC Day of Flow
Sat. Oct. 3, 2–6:30 PM
Workshops, live performance and an open jam spanning hooping, poi, juggling, Levi wand and silk fans. This broadens Movement Wear research beyond dance vocabulary into continuous arm trajectories, object interaction, reach, balance and repeated rotation.
Fort Greene Park Artisans Bazaar
Sat. Oct. 3, 9 AM–4 PM
Brooklyn Pop-Up's markets emphasize contemporary fashion, accessories, jewelry, vintage, art and sustainable/handmade goods rather than mass-market resale. That's excellent scouting for materials, merchandising and small-brand presentation.
Atlantic Antic
Sun. Oct. 4, noon–6 PM
More than a conventional street fair: hundreds of local merchants, crafts, vintage/handmade goods, food and live entertainment over a very large stretch of Brooklyn. For CHR it becomes a roaming street-style census across generations and neighborhoods.
ALSO
Brooklyn's Underground Salsa Party runs Thursday, Oct. 1 at Dekalb Market/Understudy with salsa, bachata and cha-cha and no cover.
DanceUs Saturday also has Perreo Garden in Bushwick, mixing reggaeton with salsa, merengue and dembow and explicitly encouraging intentional fashion.
