This is the week’s killer movement crossover: house + Afro House + electronic music + live flamenco dancers + percussion and musicians, staged beneath the Kosciuszko Bridge. It is visually enormous without feeling culturally empty.
02. AGRICULTURE vs FASHION PICK
Farm-to-Fabric Hemp Textile & Fashion Summit
Fri. Sept. 18 + Sat. Sept. 19, 10 AM–7 PM,
Farmers, Indigenous knowledge holders, textile researchers, manufacturers, artists and designers trace hemp from agriculture through contemporary textile production and fashion. Live material demonstrations make this unusually valuable for CHR’s recycled/lower-impact materials hierarchy.

Inside the Studio: Luisa Mantelli
Fri. Sept. 18, 6–8 PM,
Drawing Room Williamsburg
Luisa Mantelli finished and in-progress work across weaving, crochet and embroidery turns the space into a working textile studio. This is intimate enough to actually talk process, not merely look at finished objects from behind a rope.

Sunday Skate Club: The Disco Express
Sun. Sept. 20, 8 PM–midnight,
Disco, soulful house, funk and skating occupy the same floor. Roller culture gives CHR something nightclub observation doesn’t: continuous lower-body motion, balance, abrasion, pockets under centrifugal movement and very visible personal style.
05. 🥁 SOUND PICK
Healing in Motion: Congolese Dance + Live Drumming
Sat. Sept. 19, 11 AM–12:30 PM,
Traditional Congolese dance, live drumming and communal movement put cultural practice ahead of nightlife spectacle. For CHR, this is a reminder that movement clothing must work beyond clubs and gyms, across community, ritual and expressive movement.
06. FASHION PICK
Re Fashion: Textile Collage Workshop
Sun. Sept. 20, 3–5 PM,
A small fashion-sketching workshop using fabric, paper, acrylic and collage. Only 12 spots means less spectacle, more actual conversation about how color, textile and silhouette communicate personality.
The CHR story of the week
Last week was heavy on runway and spectacle.
This week gets closer to the machinery underneath culture.
Brooklyn gives us fiber, handmade process, flamenco, African dance and roller-floor culture. Miami gives us streetwear, Little Havana, breaking and the creative women building scenes around music and art.
