CHR Miami Fashion & Style Radar: Carnival, Wynwood Art + Salsa | Oct. 5–11

Welcome to CHR Radar, Crown Heights Radio’s weekly edit of the fashion, art, movement & cultural signals worth paying attention to.

This week, CHR is moving between Miami and Brooklyn for a fresh edit of fashion, art, dance, nightlife, street style, and creative culture.

In Miami, we’re watching Salsa Fest, Soundtuary, live music, movement, and a crowd that treats style as part of the night.

Miami Carnival J’Ouvert + Mas Parade & Concert

Sat. Oct. 10 + Sun. Oct. 11 · Central Broward Park, Lauderhill

J’Ouvert layers paint, powder, soca and sustained dancing; Sunday's Mas Parade turns costume design into moving architecture, with 20+ masquerade bands and enormous King/Queen constructions. The official Carnival describes the parade as art, costume, music and storytelling delivered through bodies in motion.

Wynwood Art Walk

Sat. Oct. 10, noon–11 PM · Wynwood

One of the strongest CHR crossover environments this week: galleries, murals, live programming, shopping, music, nightlife and free Wynwood Walls access from 5–10 PM.

Miami Beach Salsa Fest

Sun. Oct. 11, 5–8 PM · Miami Beach Bandshell

The program includes dance showcases, a Seniors Salsa Dance Contest, free salsa lessons and a live orchestra.

Good Day Miami: The Jam District

Sat. Oct. 10, 4–10 PM · Higher Ground at Arlo Wynwood

Caribbean music meets explicit fashion intent. The event calls for “Vibrant Chic & Bold Fashion” and mixes soca, dancehall, reggae and Afrobeats on a rooftop.

LA NIÑA – Italian HIT Week

Sat. Oct. 10, 8 PM · Miami Beach Bandshell

LA NIÑA blends Neapolitan song, alternative R&B, electronic music and tammurriata influence. The cultural hybridity feels very CHR, and her visual world gives the event more style/design value than a conventional concert stop.

STAMPED × Jerk x Jollof: Miami Carnival Poolside

Sat. Oct. 10, 3–11 PM · Arlo Wynwood

Afrobeats, Amapiano, dancehall, hip-hop and Caribbean rhythms stretched across eight hours of poolside dancing.

Tudo Bem: Refilled Miami Debut

Sat. Oct. 10, 10 PM–3 AM · Sunkissed, Brickell

Brazilian underground sounds including regional funk, ritmada, bruxaria, Miami bass and automotivo. That makes this one of the week's more interesting underground dance-floor laboratories, and it reaches beyond the usual Miami house circuit.

Crown Heights Radio curates the music, DJs, fashion, art, nightlife, movement and cultural scenes worth knowing in Miami and Brooklyn. New Radar picks every week.
